The baritone Matthias Goerne is one of the most versatile and sought-after singers in his field worldwide. He is a regular guest in major opera houses and concert halls as well as at major festivals and has worked with almost all well-known conductors and orchestras. When he now performs a Schumann Lieder program at the Dresden Schauspielhaus, the venue is a special one for the performer, as his father, Dieter Görne, led the house as director through the post-reunification years from 1990 to 2001. The artist is accompanied on the piano by the Austrian pianist and director of the Salzburg Festival Markus Hinterhäuser, with whom he has had a long-standing and intensive collaboration.
