With Hélène Grimaud and the Camerata Salzburg, the music festival welcomes welcome festival guests who will once again delight the audience at their concert in 2024. After Beethoven's "Coriolanus" overture, two popular works of musical romanticism are on the program. Schumann's Opus 54 in A minor is considered the romantic piano concerto par excellence, which, despite its orchestral dynamics, always finds chamber music transparency - a showpiece for the French pianist, who is celebrated for her virtuosity and sensitivity. Symphony No. 1 in C minor is a youthful work by Mendelssohn, which the fifteen-year-old dedicated to his beloved sister Fanny for his birthday. The composition impresses with its sophisticated and musically extremely attractive character, with the composer's youthful exuberance sometimes shining through.
