Ätna – these are Demian Kappenstein and Inéz Schaefer. The two met at a 90s throwback party at the Dresden University of Music and now enjoy high international recognition. The Dresden electro-pop duo is musically characterized by a mixture of minimalism, rich rhythms and glorious vocals. You can recognize elements from US jazz to those from the music of the Far East. Everything is real, every effect is regulated live. In the Kulturpalast, Etna is supported by the Dresden band soloists - and therefore rich string sound. Together with conductor and arranger Gordon Hamilton, they present old and new songs in an unprecedented form and create their very own sound worlds far from stylistic conventions and boundaries of any kind. This is new, surprising, courageous and, above all, danceable.
