In order to be able to support his girlfriend Marie and her little boy sufficiently financially, Wozzeck pursues several different side incomes: For example, he regularly shaves the captain, cuts sticks or lends himself to the doctor for questionable medical experiments - such as a bean and dumpling meat diet Disposal. Restless and driven by tormenting delusions, he rushes from one activity to the next, constantly exposed to the ridicule and sadism of the captain and doctor. His only support is his relationship with Marie. But she feels attracted to the attractive drum major, with whom she eventually enters into a sexual relationship.
When Wozzeck discovers two new earrings on her, he becomes suspicious. But also clear malicious hints from the doctor and captain make it clear to him that he was betrayed by Marie. Confronted by him, Marie rebuffs Wozzeck brusquely. When he also sees her dancing in public with the drum major and the latter even raves about her physical advantages a little later, Wozzeck decides to murder Marie. The next time he meets Marie, outside in nature, he implements his plan and kills Marie with a knife.
After Margret and others discover blood on Wozzeck shortly afterwards, Wozzeck returns to the scene of the crime to better hide the discarded knife, diving deeper and deeper into the water and drowning.
Marien's boy, teased by other children, is left behind as an orphan: still too small to be able to understand what happened.
Subject to change.
