Rosalinde, the old duke's daughter, disguises herself as a man to visit her father who is banished to the forests of Arden and to escape the violence of his brother, the power-hungry autocrat Frederick. Or does she rather want to seduce Orlando, who is also banned and has little experience in relationship issues, into a love game? As her alter ego Ganymede, she pretends to teach Orlando how to overcome his infatuation with herself, Rosalinde.
