Max Hansen's descent into hell
"I had an enchanting charm..." - The director and author Peter Lund, the actor Boris Eder and the pianist Florian Schäfer tell the story of Max Hansen in a scenic solo with music. About an almost unbelievable career that the "Little Caruso" and "Scandinavian humorist" made between Berlin and Vienna from 1923 to 1933. On stage, in film, on the radio. From "Mariza" to Leopold in "Weißes Rössl", the illegitimate son of a Danish actress and a Hungarian "artist of Jewish origin" guarantees a good mood. At the Theater an der Wien in 1936, Hansen played Axel at the Himmelstür in Ralph Benatzky's revue of the same name, which Lund revived with great success at the Volksoper a few years ago. And Hansen suggested Zarah Leander as a stand-in for Greta Garbo. The start of Leander's dream career in the "Third Reich", which Hansen, driven by fears, survives in Scandinavia with fake Aryan proof, while many of his former companions perish. A not at all black and white story about dreams and nightmares, about fate and guilt.
