Carnival concert of the Young Philharmonic Vienna

The carnival concert on Shrovetide Saturday is dedicated to "Venice's voices": Antonio Vivaldi's "Quattro stagioni" are presented by the outstanding young violinist and orchestra leader Ieva Pranskute. The second Venetian is Igor Stravinsky with his ballet music "Pulcinella". And Ezra Pound, the American modernist poet who lived long in Venice, and whose wife, violinist Olga Rudge, was responsible for Vivaldi's 20th-century renaissance. Star actress Valery Cheplanova will lend her voice to the poet.
