in an adaptation by Yuri Bashmet based on the verse novel by Alexander Pushkin and the opera by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
In this work of Yuri Bashmet successfully combines traditional Russian music with the mood of the novel and strikingly modern sound. The uniqueness of this version stems from the fact that opera singers and actors perform together with a symphony orchestra that infuses the verses of Pushkin's novel, while the spectators immerse themselves completely in the 19th-century atmosphere. The performance is a successful combination of music, poetry and dramatic acting.
