Based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 play *Spring Awakening*, the rock musical explores social morality while simultaneously exploring sexuality and oppression. Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik worked on their adaptation for seven years. Together with young people, they developed a work that explores its themes with a diverse, young perspective. Even though we think of ourselves as more enlightened today, adolescents still struggle with the countless worries, fears, and hardships of puberty. The captivating songs delve deep into the thoughts and feelings of the characters.
