New Year's organ concert

Dresden Trumpet Consort of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden
The radiant trumpet sounds of the Dresdner Trumpet Consort of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, refined with rhythmic drumbeats and grandiosely enhanced by the powerful orchestral sound of the organ in the spacious room of the Kreuzkirche, attract several thousand concertgoers every year to Saxony's largest church directly on the Altmarkt, to ring in the new year intoxicated.
This year, too, some of the most effective works in musical literature can be heard again, with George Frideric Handel's “Fireworks Music” and Edward Elgar's “Pomp and Circumstances”. Popular compositions by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Johann Sebastian Bach can also be found on the wonderful concert programme.
