Schwanensee

Choreography by Patrice Bart after Ivanov and Petipa music by Peter I. Tchaikovsky

The white swans and their fragile queen Odette, who beguiles the unfortunate prince with her ethereal charm, or the festive ball scenes in which a whole court falls like the intoxication of the seductive Odile, all this is part of the myth "Swan Lake".
Using the means of classical dance, the ballet tells the story of Prince Siegfried and the enchanted Princess Odette, who is trapped in swan form. In the staging of the Staatsballett Berlin, the famous swan-paintings were retained in their archaic effect, but the dramatic function of the characters around the unhappy prince was carefully modified. Prince Siegfried's mother, who loves her son idolatrously, has all the threads of his fate in his hands. The jealous Benno and the figure of the influential Rotbarts were also psychologically interpreted.
Peter I. Tchaikovsky's distinctive composition contributes significantly to the atmosphere, which is inseparably connected with "Swan Lake".
