Sächsisches Vocalensemble - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Sächsisches Vocalensemble
Like hardly any other composer, Bruckner's oeuvre is permeated by a religious mysticism, which is exemplarily reflected in his symphonies and choral music. 2024 marks the 200th anniversary of the great late Romantic's birthday - reason for the Saxon Vocal Ensemble to celebrate the anniversary with the performance of his Second Mass in E minor. The work, originally composed for an outdoor performance for an eight-part mixed choir and a wind ensemble, is inspired in its musical structure by Gregorian chants and is sung a cappella in many parts, a challenge for all participants. Under the direction of Matthias Jung and together with the Dresden Motet Choir and the Ensemble Musica Florea, this outstanding composition will be heard in the Annenkirche.
