Trio Amerling - Schedule, Program & Tickets

Trio Amerling

In the pictures of the Flemish painter Pieter Bruegel not only people, but also countless animals frolic. The Flemish author Bart Moeyaert reads texts and stories about some of these animals. The musician Stefan Foidl lets the animals and their world of experience and emotions come to life through his improvisations on the piano, whereby he sonically expands the instrument with live electronics. And the illustrator Gerda Dendooven creates live images directly to it, which are visualized large above the stage.

"Working together as a musician with an author and a live painter, combining three art forms into a trio is like spontaneously inventing an exciting film. The result is an art form that rarely exists, but which promises an intense and great experience, "explains pianist Stefan Foidl. The occasion for the high-profile rendezvous is the 450th anniversary of Pieter Bruegel the Elder's death. Among his best known works is the "Great Tower of Babel" from 1563.
