Otello - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Otello
Text by William Shakespeare
Desdemona has fallen in love with the foreign general Otello and married her against her father's wishes.
Iago, a scheming, malicious ensign of Otello's, wants to destroy him. And he succeeds in doing so in a cunning way: he gradually convinces Otello that his idol Desdemona is cheating on him. Only after Otello murders his wife, full of hatred and jealousy, does he realize her innocence. Filled with remorse, Otello stabs himself and, as he dies, bids farewell to his beloved dead wife with a kiss.
