Nathan Meltzer & Danae Dörken

With the violinist Nathan Meltzer and the pianist Danae Dörken, two top musicians of the younger generation unite to form a duo in the magnificent ambience of Albrechtsberg Castle. The American Meltzer, who studied at the famous Juilliard School, has made a name for himself as one of the emerging talents on his instrument and is well known to the Dresden audience through his brilliant performances at the Moritzburg Festival. Like him, the German-Greek Danae Dörken, born in 1991, is at home on the world's major concert stages and impresses with her amazing technique and unique expressiveness. The pair's program combines works of duo literature from various styles and eras with violin sonatas by Beethoven, Janácek and Fauré as well as a premiere by the New York composer Hannah Ishizaki.
