Max Simonischek, Vienna Reed Quintet und Christopher Hinterhuber
"Not Bach, but sea should be his name", Ludwig van Beethoven meant admiringly. In fact, Bach's music is not only as deep as a whole ocean in the musical sense, but it is also enormously multi-layered, unfathomable, touching. Many of these adjectives also apply to the 1851 classic "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville. His drama takes place above all on the sea. The narrative backbone of the novel is the fateful journey of the whaling ship Pequod. Captain Ahab hunts the white sperm whale Moby Dick, who has torn off his leg, with blind hatred.
