„Let me fly“
Gospel Power: The powerful unplugged acoustics, which are distributed evenly in the concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir under the artistic direction of Andreas Maurer, makes hearts swing and thoughts fly.
"Gospel" comes from "good spell" and means "good news". And that is exactly the message of this Sunday afternoon! Freedom, equality, and peace run like a thread through the gospel songs that were once sung by the African slaves of North America, and they are always accompanied by the musical motif of "repetition." As a result, they are somehow hammered into the heads of the audience. Like a truck traveling the same route, the sung formulas dig deep into the tarmac of oppression and blow it up. Combined with the traditional physical expressions dancing and clapping, this can culminate even in a kind of spiritual trance. Gospel power with a powerful plea!
From the program: Let me fly / Joshua fit the battle of Jericho / You will never walk alone
