Le nozze di Figaro - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Le nozze di Figaro
Commedia per musica in four acts
Text by Lorenzo Da Ponte
after Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais
Synopsis:
It was supposed to be the happiest day for Susanna and Figaro: their wedding day. But Count Almaviva is pursuing the bride.
Don Basilio is harassing Susanna with his intercession for the Count, Marcellina wants to sue for the old marriage contract with Figaro, and Doctor Bartolo supports her, partly out of old anger against Figaro. And then there's the page Cherubino, who is in love with all women and whom all women want to have around them, preferably disguised as a girl... Only with the combined powers of Figaro's imagination, Susanna's cleverness, and the support of the deceived Countess can this "mad day" be brought to a happy ending.
