The homosexual window dresser Molina is imprisoned in a Latin American dictatorship. His new cellmate is the resistance fighter Valentin. Torture and humiliation determine life in prison. Molina's motto for survival is to dream up a beautiful illusory world. After initial refusal, Valentin agrees.
