Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & Klaus Mäkelä - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & Klaus Mäkelä
The opening concert of the 2024 Dresden Music Festival celebrates the 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner with the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest and its designated chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä. The young and charismatic Finn and the traditional Dutch orchestra founded in 1888 dedicate themselves to the Fifth Symphony of the great late Romantic, a monumental and at the same time very personal composition, which he himself never heard in the orchestral version because he did not attend the premiere in 1894 for health reasons could attend. The work is now considered one of Bruckner's most impressive creations, particularly because of the contrapuntal and powerful sound of the final movement.
