Kiss me, Kate - Schedule, Program & Tickets

Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" is rehearsed and performed - and the very couple that represents Kate and Petruchio are quarreled in real life and yet inseparable.

In 2012 the fifth new production of “Kiss me, Kate” premiered at the Volksoper. The reviews of Bernd Mottl's colorful, lively production with its gorgeous dance interludes (choreography: Alonso Barros) were euphoric: “Colorful, fast and fun” was the headline of the courier and closed the review with: “All in all, the Volksoper is a relaxed music theater evening to feel good succeeded. Autumn depression, goodbye! ". The Kronen Zeitung assisted: "... the audience found this Volksoper premiere to their liking: extensive applause, cheers, shouts of bravo!". And the press read: “Bernd Mottl polished the enchanting antiquity of Cole Porter's musicals with a kick. The prickly lovers are pleasing in the lively new version by Peter Lund.
