Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno

ORATORIO IN TWO PARTS
Libretto by Benedetto Pamphili

In 1707 Handel presented his first oratorio in Rome while he was traveling to Italy. A dispute between the forces that move human existence: Beauty (Bellezza) swears eternal fidelity to pleasure (Piacere) and is rebuked for it by time (Tempo) and disenchantment (Disinganno). What is human existence about? How and where do you want and can you develop? And isn't a little beauty wonderful? In any case, the most beautiful orchestral sounds will be provided by Rubén Dubrovsky and his Bach Consort Wien, who are now important artistic partners of the MusikTheater an der Wien.
