Happiness Machine uses the means of music theater to present an alternative to the prevailing financial capitalist economic system presented by Austrian author Christian Felber. Its "common good economy", which is strongly supported by the competent committee of the European Union with a majority vote of almost 90%, is being attacked by the massively male-dominated nomenklatura of domestic economics. Happiness Machine counteracts the very virile attacks of the economists against the voices of film artists and composers. The director Jacqueline Kornmüller, who enjoys great international attention with her large Ganymed productions in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, has interwoven the various film works into a total event through theatrical interventions. Reflections by the musicians of the ensemble and various staff from the areas of artistic direction, administration and stage technology of the Klangforum Wien are an integral part of this production. This new version of the cinematic music drama is the first part of the world premiere of Happiness Machine - 24 Hours of Fortune with the Klangforum Wien, which then relocates to the Semperdepot for a musical dream night and continues the next morning in the Gartenbaukino with the theatrical version of the films of the Gemeinwohl-Projekt. As a result, the Vienna Konzerthaus will be revived with philippines, new ideas, games and lots of music. Single tickets are available at the Theater an der Wien. 24-hour tickets for all venues can be purchased from the Vienna Konzerthaus.
Happiness Machine is a project of Klangforum Wien, Music of the Centuries and Amour Fou Vienna in cooperation with Tricky Women. Sponsored by Kulturabteilung der Stadt Wien and Bundeskanzleramt Österreich with special funding from the German Federal Cultural Foundation and Interfaces / Creative Europe Program of the European Union , The composition commissions to Iris ter Schiphorst, Malin Bång, Eva Reiter, Carola Bauckholt and Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandria are funded by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. The video projections for Happiness Machine were realized with Mark Coniglio's software Isadora.
