Franz Peter Schubert was a prolific writer whose life ended way too early in a winter trip. He created chamber music, orchestral works, secular and sacred choral music, singing and tried on operas. The focus of his work are over 600 songs; perfect tone paintings of poems that he loved. Schubert is often referred to as a genius misunderstood in his lifetime, whose works were created off the public.

Was he a retired artist, a loner, who had to be persuaded by his friends to the first concert? An airik who carried his heart on his tongue or a melancholy plagued by world-pain? What do we really know about him? One thing is certain: he was a Vienna Boys' Choir. And without his friends Schubert is unthinkable.

Over two hundred years after his death, his successors design their own Schubertiade. On the basis of letters, diary entries and travelogues, the Vienna Boys' Choir approaches GEZEICHNET: FRANZ SCHUBERT the image of a great man. The result is a multi-layered portrait of the romantic Franz Schubert, with humor, crayons and above all - lots of music.
