Fanfare Ciocărlia + Dunkelbunt - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Fanfare Ciocărlia + Dunkelbunt
25 years of Fanfare Ciocărlia: A Balkan brass beast on 24 legs that has caused a stir in halls all over the world with its oriental funk groove. Their energetic performances and musical ingenuity have garnered them fans from Melbourne to Memphis, Tokyo to Toulouse, Floridsdorf to Favoriten. Anyone who has heard Fanfare Ciocărlia will agree: no brass band has ever played as fast as this one.
Also in her luggage: her new album "It wasn't hard to love you".
Under the motto "[ Dunkelbunt] befluegelt" the producer Ulf Lindemann aka [ Dunkelbunt ] takes his place at the keyboard and leads the deliberately reduced line-up of his band on a fresh foray through the musical traditions of this world: In the flying change between the traditions - Orient and Occident, Balkans and the Levant, African and Latin American moods - the musical horizons open up, but remain very close and completely there due to the conscious limitation of the instruments: There is the singer and dance teacher Christiane Beinl, whose fresh timbre and linguistic curiosity inspire us in offset the common moods of Arabic, Scandinavian or Brazilian traditionals; there is the multi-percussionist and tabla player Haider Khan with his rousing joy of playing and captivating stage wit. And there is Ulf Lindemann at the keys, who spices up his own compositions and adaptations with playfulness and improvisation: The globetrotter has found his place - his "winged" playing has become more lyrical, the wind of inspiration blows from north and south, west and east.
As a gift for the 25th band anniversary of Fanfare Ciocărlia, [ Dunkelbunt ] has conjured up a remix that is supposed to set the mood for the upcoming stage festival in the Volkstheater and train the swing of the hips.
