Divertimento - Musical pleasure at court

Welcome to a concert that brings the sensuous lushness of summer to life with ravishing compositions & in a serene manner in the gleaming ambience of the Great Orangery.

The divertimento - Italian: pleasure - with its entertaining & dance-like character was popular and widespread at European courts until the end of the 18th century. The Berliner Residenz Ensemble, conducted by Alexandra Rossmann, will play wonderful representatives of this musical genre for you - including the Divertimento in D major No. 3 by Leopold Mozart & Joseph Haydn's Divertimento in E flat major Hob. II:6 with its lyrically expressive violin singing in the central Adagio, which is framed by two melodically catchy, lively movements as outer brackets & by two minuets as inner brackets.
Antonio Salieri's Sinfonia in D major "La Veneziana" rounds off the summery musical experience with a romantic flair.

For a long concert, feel transported from the fragile present to summery light-heartedness with all your senses & enjoy the evening!
