A surreal journey between dream and reality
With visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatics, the globally acclaimed tent production LUZIA takes viewers to an imaginary, surreal Mexico, where an opulent world between dream and reality awaits the audience. From April 12 to May 14, 2023, Cirque du Soleil is showing a breathtaking artistic dance in the Grand Chapiteau in Vienna/Neu-Marx on the premises at Staribacherstraße 1, which begins in a film setting, from the ocean to a smoky dance hall and on to a desert leads. LUZIA is a colorful series of images of places, shapes and sounds in Mexico that reflect the country's tradition and modernity.
Poetically guided by light ('luz' in Spanish) and rain ('lluvia'), LUZIA tells of the fascinating encounters of a traveler who has jumped with a parachute. He encounters the culture, nature and mythology of a dreamlike land with a mysterious menagerie of figures and characters. LUZIA enchants the viewer with the artful integration of water elements into the acrobatic performances – a premiere for a Cirque du Soleil tent production.
