B'NAI B'RITH CHANUKAH CONCERT 2018 - 70 YEARS ISRAËL
The Chanukah Concert Foundation will celebrate the Fourth Night of Hanukkah at the Concertgebouw and enlighten the Hanukkah Menorah on stage in all their glory! (All presentations will be in English)
Chanukah 2018 - 70 years of Israel
Hanukkah, the festival of lights, is an old Jewish holiday. This year we are also proud to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel. The Chanukah Concert Foundation and the Jewish Community of Amsterdam are celebrating the fourth night of Chanukah by lighting the Chanukia (traditional eight-armed candelabra) on the Concertgebouw stage. We have put together a special program that appeals to both Jewish and non-Jewish audiences. Everyone is invited.
Musicians and repertoire
We invite again a young and inspiring Israeli soloist to this special evening: Cantor Israel Nachman (from the International Synagogue of Tel Aviv). Cantor Nachman is accompanied by the Jewish Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Joan Berkhemer. We will perform a wide range of Jewish, Israeli, classical and contemporary music. The concert patron is Leo Samama.
About our main sponsor B'nai B'rith Lodge Hilleel
B'nai B'rith is the oldest Jewish service organization in the world. It is committed to the well-being of Jewish citizens throughout the world and to the existence and protection of the State of Israel.
refreshments
At our concert you enjoy more than just music. Everyone will be spoiled with a special Hanukkah delicacy "sufganiot" (jelly donuts) and kosher wine - all included in the ticket price.
