An apartment building of abysses: Mrs. Wurm and her grown-up son Herrmann live in the basement, tormenting each other with insults and murder fantasies. One floor above: Mr. and Mrs. Kovacic and their vulgar daughters Desiree and Bianca. They are all invited to a birthday party by the old lady Mrs. Grollfeuer, at which years of pent-up aggression finally and violently break out.

In typical Schwab German, the author depicts a grotesque world without morals, compassion, solidarity or tact - and it's brutally funny.
