The quiet power of melancholy
Cat Power is actually called Charlyn Marie Marshall. The stage name by which the US singer-songwriter is now known was initially the name of her first band. Cat Power is now a solo artist - and an extremely successful one at that.
Singer-songwriter with soul
With her melancholy voice and her emotional, introspective songs, Cat Power has been shaping the indie and alternative scene since the 1990s. Her music combines folk, blues, soul and rock. Albums such as "Moon Pix" (1998) and "The Greatest" (2006) are considered milestones in her unmistakable, minimalist style.
Return to the Wiener Konzerthaus
She made her debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus in July 2024, where she brilliantly performed songs that Bob Dylan presented on his legendary Royal Albert Hall Concert tour in 1966. Now we are looking forward to the return of the indie star to mark the 20th anniversary of her legendary album "The Greatest".
