The Concours Géza Anda occupies a special place among the many international piano competitions - and not only because of its jury, which is always made up of outstanding figures from the world of music. What's more, the Concours Géza Anda is not just about the prestigious final concert and considerable prize money: the Géza Anda Foundation undertakes to mentor the winners for three years and provide them with performance opportunities, among other things. Thus, classic.Esterházy warmly welcomes two outstanding prizewinners of the 16th Concours Géza Anda: the Moscow-born pianist Ilya Shmukler (winner of the First Prize, the Audience Prize, the Mozart Prize, the Junior Jury Award and the Special Prize of the Hungarian Radio Orchestra) and his Latvian colleague Daumants Liepiņš (winner of the Second Prize ex aequo and the Prix Fondation Thiébaud-Frey). They will demonstrate their technical brilliance and musical expressiveness not only as soloists, but also together with Rico Gulda, General Director of the Esterhazy Private Foundation.
