This is how pianist Gabriela Montero once answered the question of how she actually manages to inspire audiences at her concerts with large-scale improvisations, the musical themes of which were shouted or sung to her from the audience seconds beforehand. Of course: born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1970, she performed in public for the first time at the age of 5, made her debut with an orchestra at the age of 8 and was already winning prestigious piano competitions via a scholarship in the USA by the age of 12. Music from her homeland, the melting pot of South and North America, but also a strong social conscience and political awareness - all this and more has made Gabriela Montero a unique individualist who is celebrated all over the world. At HERBSTGOLD, she will demonstrate the full range of her musical interests and abilities - to the delight of the audience.
