The King of Bohemia turns to Sherlock Holmes in dire need: his secret love affair with the fascinating Miss Adler threatens to be his political undoing. What at first seems like a simple case soon turns out to be a highly explosive power game, because none other than Professor Moriarty - once Holmes' mentor and now his bitter enemy - is pulling the strings in the background. But Moriarty is not the only danger: Miss Adler is shaking Holmes' strictly logical world, and for the first time the reserved master detective seems to be developing real feelings. As Watson wrestles with his jealousy and Holmes' domineering brother unexpectedly intervenes, the situation escalates into a deadly game of love, betrayal and crime.

Ken Ludwig, who has already successfully adapted Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express for the stage, is now turning his attention to another legendary figure from English crime fiction: "My play is primarily about the deep friendship between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. It forms the core of the myth that Conan Doyle created. The Moriarty Case is my attempt to give us all a fresh opportunity to experience the comedic fun and melodramatic pyrotechnics of the Holmes cosmos."

Following his highly successful production of The Great Dictator, Dominic Oley will bring this captivating Sherlock Holmes adventure to the Kammerspiele stage - once again with a small, extremely versatile cast.
