An adaptation of IBSEN'S *HUIS* by Simon Stone, originally produced by Internationaal Theater Amsterdam in 2017
In 1964, a successful architect designs a glass vacation home for himself and his family, a home that will be destroyed more than 60 years later. The house: a place spanning several generations, where different generations discuss, argue, celebrate, and love one another. But it is also a place where lies are told, secrets are kept, and battles are fought without regard for the consequences. In the vacation home, family is experienced as both an oasis and a prison.
Simon Stone directs a grand family epic: He draws on themes and motifs from the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen and has developed a new version of his play *IBSEN HUIS* for the BURG, which he premiered in Amsterdam in 2017.
