The performance consists of around 20 pieces that move quickly from one legend, region or dynasty to the next. The themes range from the elegance of the ladies of the Tang court to the exploits of brave generals on the battlefield and from the timeless philosophical works of Laozi to spectacular scenes from magical realms. The performance transports you to a magical world.

Shen Yun, a classical Chinese dance ensemble from New York, presents traditional and spiritual culture. Chinese classical dance has been passed down for thousands of years within the imperial palace, ancient Chinese theater and opera. Enriched with the profound wisdom of each dynasty, it has become a complete dance system. Its characteristic movements and rhythm are an expression of traditional aesthetics and inner feeling. Shen Yun's orchestra harmoniously combines the beauty of ancient Chinese instruments with the grandeur of a Western orchestra. With its deep spiritual roots and positive worldview, traditional Chinese culture in China was suppressed by communism. Today, Shen Yun, based in New York, is keeping this precious heritage alive on stage. Shen Yun is not allowed to perform in China.
