Irish Celtic" reveals the true elixir of life in Ireland - dance and music in their millennia-old tradition. Both have always played a special role in the lives of the Irish: even the Druids passed on their ritual circle dances from generation to generation, and even today there are plenty of occasions to dance and make music together on the Emerald Isle. Whether weddings, christenings or funerals - dance and music are an integral part of everyday life and an expression of the Irish attitude to life.
The main role at Irish Celtic is therefore not only played by the tap dance ensemble or the live band, but by the dance and the music itself. Accompanied by the traditional Irish band, some of the best dancers in their genre whisk you away to the Emerald Isle in rousing tap dance choreographies. A rousing mixture of Celtic mysticism and infectious Irish joie de vivre to the fascinating sounds of Celtic-Irish music - from classic Irish folk songs to fairytale melodies and exuberant dance music.
Irish music: modern and traditional
The excellent tap dance ensemble and the Irish Band interpret the best-known evergreens of Irish music together. Sometimes graceful and light as a feather, sometimes energetic and spirited, the dancers whirl across the stage and transport the audience to a culture in which conviviality is a matter of course and hospitality a matter of honor. This old tradition of Irish dance and its music lives on in the "Public Houses", the famous Irish pubs. This is where modernity and tradition meet and so it is no coincidence that it is the historic pub "Irish Celtic" owned by the old roughneck Paddy that provides the stylish setting for this atmospheric journey into the soul of Ireland. The pub is steeped in tradition and has seen a lot, as its owner enthusiastically recounts: With captivating humor, Paddy leads us through the history of Ireland, its myths and legends - from its Celtic origins to the present day - in seemingly countless anecdotes.
Irish dance: dance is life
From its roots in the time of the Druids, through the influences of the Normans, Scotland and Brittany, to the emergence of solo dancing in the late 18th century by the so-called dance masters. It was these traveling dance teachers who established new dance forms in the rural regions in exchange for free board and lodging and competed in exciting dance contests. This is also where the unmistakable tap dance originated: footwork and rhythm alone were to take center stage in the competitions - with the distinctive posture of a straight upper body and close-fitting arms. To this day, dance competitions are an important part of Irish dance, and the Céilí Dances are more than "just" typical Irish group dances: actually the term for happy dance societies, the term goes back to social gatherings at crossroads, where people met after work - and danced together.
