Falco Meets Amadeus
"The Inspector" is back! After hundreds of performances, countless sold-out shows and over half a million enthusiastic visitors, the makers of "FALCO - The Musical" are now bringing the latest masterpiece from the creative team around leading actor Alexander Kerbst on tour and reviving the myth once again: "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS" tells the story of two absolutely exceptional figures in music history in an equally visually stunning and eccentric way, combining all the great Falco hits live with the exciting story of the legendary Viennese. The sensational new stage show provides a deep insight into the thoughts and feelings of the artist and the man behind the dazzling pop icon, paying tribute to the great life's work of the "Falcon". In 2026, "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS" will go on a major premiere tour through Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
"I'm only immortal when I'm dead!" The new homage to the greatest genius in German-language pop and rap history revolves around these dark, foreboding words. "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS" is a gripping and deeply moving musical journey through the formative stages in the life of this striking musician - a man who lived life to the full and went through many highs and lows, even to the point of self-destruction.
Over 60 million records sold, an almost limitless number of sold-out concerts worldwide and the only German-language song at the top of the American charts to date made Falco the most internationally successful Austrian musician of all time alongside Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In his No. 1 song "Rock Me Amadeus", he sings about Mozart's popularity, debts and his relationship with women - parallels that can be attributed to Falco himself as well as his "rock idol". As a turning point in Falco's career, the song should of course not be missing from the new edition of "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS". In addition to "Rock Me Amadeus" and their origins, there are many other similarities between the two musical geniuses: both were far ahead of their time, created their own unique musical style and thus shaped the music of their time like no one else; two complex and controversial characters between genius and madness and two lives lived to excess, both of which came to an end far too soon. Falco died at the age of 40 in a car accident in the Dominican Republic, while Mozart died at the young age of 35 from a fiery fever. Both lived mainly in Vienna and were also laid to rest there. They will live on forever in the hearts of their fans and their musical legacy ultimately made them immortal.
The song selection in this spectacular show experience ranges from all the great Falco hits such as "Der Kommissar", "Vienna Calling", "Jeanny" or "Out of the Dark" to early successes such as "Ganz Wien", impressive titles such as "Emotional" or "Coming Home", some unjustly forgotten titles and the song "Europa", which is once again very topical today. The homage brings the "Falken" back on stage and presents all the songs live with a five-piece band and outstanding performers. Shrill and extravagant interludes by the dance ensemble breathe new life into the songs and round off the stage spectacle wonderfully.
Insider knowledge and many years of experience as a promise of quality
Falco's former bandleader Thomas Rabitsch and Falco's former manager and friend Horst Bork, who were also involved in "FALCO - The Musical", are among those assisting the creative team as musical directors to ensure the authentic realization. Thanks to this insider knowledge and the know-how from the last Falco show, "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS" is already set to be a success with audiences. "The extent to which Falco is still able to move and excite people today is impressive," emphasizes lead actor Alexander Kerbst, who plays the eccentric musician in the show together with Stefan Wessel. For him, one thing is certain: "If an artist can still reach the children and grandchildren of his former fans with his music years after his death, then he is truly immortal."
About the controversial exceptional artist and his music
"That was Falco, but now we play proper music." This well-known comment by radio station Ö3 on a Falco track impressively demonstrates how controversial the artist was during his lifetime. Horst Bork, Falco's former manager and biographer, knows and understands the dilemma: "When it comes to the question of whether and how you can do justice to the artist Falco with a stage show, you can take the easy way out and simply say: not at all! But that would have been a shame, because Falco deserves this monument!" The well-known musical producer Oliver Forster emphasizes: "The many reports and interviews, the numerous responses from the audience and not least the constantly high demand for a revival prove how firmly Falco is still anchored in the minds and hearts of music fans. For us, this is of course a stroke of luck, because a venture like our earlier Falco production and now the adaptation to "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS" only works with genuine, timeless legends."
Successful concept of musical biographies also known as "biographicals"
The successful Passau-based producer and organizer Oliver Forster (COFO Entertainment) has already demonstrated his expertise as a tour organizer of musical biographies such as "ELVIS - The Musical", "All You Need Is Love! - The Beatles Musical" and "Simply The Best - The Tina Turner Story". COFO has also filled theaters in German-speaking countries with its own productions about world stars such as Michael Jackson ("BEAT IT!") and Frank Sinatra ("That's Life") in recent years. This success story is now being continued with "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS".
