Woolf Works is a triptych of ballets inspired by Virginia Woolf's seminal novels Mrs. Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves and enriched with excerpts from her letters, essays and diaries.

The play explores the clash of form and content in Woolf's work - a vivid, impressionistic recreation of her prose in which feelings, moods and sensations take precedence over plot.
Capturing the heart of an artistic life driven by a quest for a freer, uniquely modern realism, Woolf Works brings to life Woolf's world of 'granite and rainbow', where people are both physical body and unlimited essence.
For this work, Wayne McGregor has once again collaborated with renowned British composer Max Richter, who has composed a specially commissioned score with electronic and live music. The set was designed by the architectural firms Ciguë and We Not I, while the costumes and lighting design were created by his long-time artistic partners Moritz Junge and Lucy Carter.
