Experience the Imperial Gala Concert at Vienna’s Palais Auersperg

Travel back to imperial Vienna with the Imperial Gala Concert and experience a true “best-of” concert featuring the finest pieces by Mozart, the “Waltz King” Johann Strauss, Vivaldi, and many more at the historic Palais Auersperg.

This Baroque gem in the heart of the city was once the stage for legendary composers such as Mozart and Strauss, and it is the only venue where this special concert series takes place. The event offers a complete experience that combines musical artistry with optional fine dining in a breathtaking, centuries-old setting.

The Concert and Its Program

The Imperial Gala Concert presents a “best-of” program of classical music featuring timeless masterpieces from the golden age of Viennese music. The program is based on the works of iconic composers who have a direct connection to the Palais Auersperg:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Hear pieces such as “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” and the famous “Queen of the Night” aria from the opera *The Magic Flute*. In 1786, Mozart conducted the Viennese premiere of his opera *Idomeneo* at the Palais Auersperg.
Johann Strauss (Son): The “Waltz King,” who himself performed regularly at the Palais Auersperg, is celebrated in the Imperial Gala Concert with lively waltzes, polkas, and marches, such as “The Blue Danube,” the “Emperor Waltz,” the “Radetzky March,” and many more.
Antonio Vivaldi: The program includes excerpts from the Baroque master’s most famous work, The Four Seasons.
Other Masters: The program is rounded out by musical highlights from composers such as Johann Pachelbel and Franz Lehár, as well as many other representatives of classical music, making the concert a unique musical journey through time.
The performance lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a 15-minute intermission. It is accompanied by a charming, humorous, and knowledgeable English-speaking host. In addition to the orchestra, internationally acclaimed sopranos, pianists, and the Vienna Royal Ballet will perform, dancing exclusive choreographies set to the music.

The Orchestra: A Hand-Selected Ensemble of Soloists

The masterpieces are performed by the soloists of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra, a carefully curated ensemble representing Vienna’s musical elite. With their virtuosity, the unmistakable “Viennese sound,” and their lively interpretations, they bring the spirit of the Viennese Classical period to life. Their exclusive lineup, which performs only at the Palais Auersperg, makes every concert an extraordinary experience.
