Ukrainian Christmas – Українське Різдво

The Homin Choir regularly draws sold-out audiences with its concerts, not only in Ukraine but also on international stages. The choir’s success is based on carefully curated programs, exceptional arrangements, and the highest artistic quality. Many choir members also stand out as soloists and help shape the ensemble’s distinctive sound, which reflects the depth of Ukrainian musical culture.

Ukrainian Christmas
At the Vienna Konzerthaus, Homin presents a special Christmas program featuring Ukrainian Christmas carols and traditional koljadky—musical treasures that have been preserved over the centuries. In addition to old folk tunes, the program features works by prominent Ukrainian composers such as Vasyl Barvinskyj, Hanna Havrylez, Ivan Nebesnyj, Jakiv Jacynevych, and Mykola Leontowytsch.

Carol of the Bells
Of course, the world-famous “Schtschedryk” by Mykola Leontovych—which became one of the world’s best-known Christmas carols as “Carol of the Bells”—is a must-hear. The beauty of Ukrainian Christmas traditions in an extraordinary interpretation conducted by Vadym Yatsenko.

Cultural Ambassador
This concert is also a symbol of cultural solidarity. The choir hails from Lviv in Ukraine and is today an important ambassador of Ukrainian culture. The press and audiences describe Homin as “the voice of the Ukrainian soul.”
