The word "triage" has not been in our active vocabulary for so long. But we have come to know it as a description of the complex issue of medical prioritization under conditions of scarce resources in a disaster.

Prof. Blankenburg, the head of an intensive care unit, is faced with the difficult task of coordinating the distribution of vital resources, especially ventilators. Her professional decisions are affected by personal crises. In particular, her husband's battle with Parkinson's demands all her attention and emotional strength - which further exacerbates her situation. Dr. Bozic, on the other hand, struggles with the principles of medical ethics, while at the same time he is preoccupied by his wife's longed-for pregnancy and his affair with his colleague Dr. Majewski. They all experience the intense conflicts and moral dilemmas that confront medical personnel in extreme situations: Against the backdrop of a far-reaching fire disaster and the resulting overload at the clinic, a highly tense atmosphere is created that forces the doctors to make quick, often almost unbearable decisions about life and death.

"Triage" poignantly illuminates the raw reality of those confronted with the darker side of their calling, where every pro or con has the potential to both save and destroy.
