Fairytale opera in three pictures based on the poem by Adelheid Wette

A well-known fairy tale with a great orchestral sound: "Hansel and Gretel" has delighted opera lovers young and old alike since its premiere in 1893. With this opera, Engelbert Humperdinck (1854-1921) created a work that is one of the most frequently performed in the world today. The fairytale opera returns to the stage at the Salzburg State Theatre in a poetic production and set by Thomas Mika. Immerse yourself in the well-known story of the brother and sister who are sent into the forest by their mother as punishment for not doing their housework, where the evil crunchy witch is up to mischief.
