Spanish Riding School
Performance
The world-famous Lipizzaner performances - the "Ballet of the White Stallions" - take place in the magnificent Baroque Winter Riding School in the Hofburg, built between 1729 and 1735 under Charles VI: in the most beautiful riding hall in the world!
The performances are the result of many years of training and intensive work by the riders and their Lipizzaners. The impetuous young stallions enchant the audience just as much as the already fully trained school stallions, who show themselves in the school quadrille, in the schools on and over the ground, in the Pas de Deux and on the long reins.
Enjoy the wonderful performance of the riders and their Lipizzaners in this atmosphere, accompanied by classical Viennese music!
Duration:
Demonstration 1 and 2: approx. 70 minutes
Short demonstration: approx. 45 minutes
Gala performance: approx. 90 minutes
Morning work
The morning work offers you an authentic insight into the training work of the riders with their Lipizzaners. You will experience the daily training in the imperial ambience of the baroque winter riding school, accompanied by classical Viennese music - from the gentle introduction of the often still gray young stallions to the targeted refinement of lessons with our trained school stallions, the "white stars".
We show loosening exercises, gymnastic training, the promotion of suppleness and muscle development - always adapted to the individual level of training and the daily form of the horses. The famous school jumps are rarely part of the morning work to protect the animals.
Duration approx. 60 minutes
Children under the age of 3 are unfortunately not permitted.
