La Bohème - schedule, program & buy tickets

When the magic of Paris meets the historic Gars Castle, an unforgettable summer of opera begins in the Waldviertel: Starting July 10, 2027, the BURG GARS Opera will bring Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème”—one of the most moving masterpieces of opera—to the stage.

In 19th-century Paris, young artists, dreamers, and intense emotions come together. Amid exuberant joie de vivre, carefree lightness, and the tragic love story of Rodolfo and Mimì, a work full of unforgettable melodies unfolds—one that has touched audiences worldwide for generations.

With incomparable musical power, Puccini weaves hope and longing, passion, and the painful transience of life into a gripping experience. Against the impressive backdrop of Gars Castle, music, nature, and the deeply moving drama merge into an operatic experience of exceptional intensity—full of magic, humanity, and those moments that linger with the audience long after the final applause.
