The stage of the Palais im Großen Garten becomes the meeting place for what at first glance appears to be an unusual musical combination: saxophone quartet meets countertenor. But in view of the saxophone's characteristic of being most similar to the human voice, this combination is nothing short of ingenious. Xavier Sabata and the Kebyart ensemble are united not only by their home city of Barcelona, but also by their passion for unusual programs. Under the title "I Am an Unusual Thing" - based on Michael Nyman's composition of the same name, which deals with one of the last letters written by Mozart - the celebrated singer and the outstanding quartet have put together a multi-faceted songbook. Works from different eras and styles, from Vivaldi to Pärt, are placed in an exciting and unusual context in this program. The audience can expect a very special listening experience!
