Antonín Dvorák wrote them fifteen years apart, with his excursion to the New World and the much better-known "American Quartet" No. 12 lying exactly in between. Both works permeate the earthly with a devotional, almost heavenly clarity. The Pavel Haas Quartet, winner of many awards and celebrated worldwide, makes this music speak: lyrical, powerful, differentiated.
