This concert is dedicated to two extremely rare treasures of the late Romantic period: Ludwig Thuille's "Romantic Overture" and the "Mass in C major" by Thuille's composition teacher and predecessor at the Munich Conservatory, Josef Rheinberger. In addition to Thuille, Rheinberger had other students who outshine his own reputation today: Max Bruch, Engelbert Humperdinck, Richard Strauss and Wilhelm Furtwängler. A rare opportunity to hear this "missing link" in music history live!
