The young jazz trumpeter Peter Somuah, who learned to play by listening incessantly to his trumpet heroes Miles Davis and Roy Hargrove, is one of the most gifted musicians on his instrument. His warm and melancholy sound and rhythmic versatility touch and inspire audiences all over the world. In his own compositions, the musical cosmopolitan wanders between different worlds of sound and combines jazz, funk and traditional music from his home country of Ghana, peppered with a touch of electronics, to create a unique and individual mix. In 2021, Somuah was honored with the "Erasmus Jazz Award" for young jazz artists, and in 2022 he won the prestigious "Edison Jazz Award" with his debut album "Outer Space". The legendary Tonne jazz club is the perfect place for this fascinating young artist to make his festival debut in Dresden.
