MOZART – Requiem

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart "Requiem" in D minor KV 626

Soprano Siri Thornhill
Alto Eva Summerer
Tenor N.N.
Bass Tobias Berndt
Chamber choir of the Frauenkirche
ensemble frauenkirche dresden
Conducted by Frauenkirche cantor Matthias Grünert

Shrouded in myth, unfinished, a summit work of sacred music - Mozart's "Requiem" is all of these things. At the end of the church year, we remember the deceased and perhaps search more intensely than usual for perspectives that open up, for consolation and hope. Mozart's music provides just the right sounds for this. And when the "Lux aeterna" (eternal light) rises in the dome of the Frauenkirche, we feel the power of music.
6 p.m. Concert introduction with Frauenkirche cantor Matthias Grünert
