Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 3 in G major K. 216
Joseph Haydn Symphony No. 104 in D major Hob. I:104
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra K. 364

Violin: Daniel Hope
Violin / Viola: Pinchas Zukerman
Zurich Chamber Orchestra
Conductor: Zubin Mehta

When the South African-English-Irish-German violinist Daniel Hope, the Israeli violinist and violist Pinchas Zukerman and the Indian conducting legend Zubin Mehta come together, three generations of artists are beating the sparks of the gods and an absolutely exceptional concert can be expected. The ninety-year-old Metha leads the two soloists (Zukerman with his "Andrea Guarneri" viola, Hope with the "Guarneri del Gesù", an instrument made by one of Guarneri's grandsons) and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra through a program full of classical clarity. Mozart's third violin concerto (a heavenly work by the nineteen-year-old composer, which already radiates all the wisdom of the world in the magical slow movement...), his "Sinfonia Concertante" for violin, viola and orchestra and Joseph Haydn's masterful "London Symphony" make the evening a summit meeting between like-minded musicians - between heaven and earth, experience and the joy of discovery, between the nave and the stars.
